We are proud to announce some of our most recent community news- here’s just a few updates to keep you informed about what’s happening in and around the Club.
At BallenIsles, we are proud to say we have established a professional club culture that nurtures talent and promotes high-performing employees. We want to recognize and congratulate two such employees on their recent promotions - Jeff Heron, Bar Manager and Cathy Bryant, Restaurant Manager at Bistro 105. We are sure both of their faces may be familiar to our members, so make sure to pass on good wishes to them when at Bistro 105!
In other news, it is always a pleasure and a privilege to plan and host private events for our Club Members here at BallenIsles Country Club. Last Saturday, Dr. Ed and Vicki Slotnick celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Club. After renewing their vows, the happy couple had a wonderful time dining with 30 of their closest friends and family on a gourmet menu especially created to mark the occasion by our Executive Chef, Gregory Jolliff. Congratulations to you both!
We also are so proud to share some recent member success from out on the golf course! After winning the Regional Audi Quattro Cup this spring at the Bears Club, Charles Beren and Murray Klein were invited to compete in the four-day National Tournament at The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island in South Carolina in August. More than 6,000 golfers throughout the US played in local events for the right to compete at the Nationals. Great job!
And an update on our North Course Renovation. As of September 1st we have completed five months of construction. While weather continues to be a factor, Ryangolf has made significant progress. The target date for the grand reopening of the golf course is still on track for mid-December. Once again, we want to thank you for your patience and understanding over the past five months. Hopefully you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are nearing the finish, and we believe that when you see the “new” North Golf Course, you will agree it was well worth the inconvenience.

The five venues include The Main Dining Room, The Grille Room, Harry's Bar, The 19th Hole and Bistro 105, located in the Sports Complex.
The Main Dining Room opens onto the Clubhouse Terrace and displays breathtaking views of the PGA Championship East Golf Course. Come here and enjoy an elegant dinner with fine dining, banquets, buffets, or cocktail receptions. Not only is this dining choice a family-friendly a la carte menu, but it also has weekly buffets featuring multiple stations filled with foods made by a wide variety of fresh local ingredients. You will surely find a favorite dish here!
The Grille Room also opens onto the Clubhouse Terrace, with a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere. The Grille Room offers you a view of the18th hole on the East course. This dining venue is perfect if you are looking for a quiet night out, but is also where the Club’s wine dinners, candlelight dinners, steakhouse dinners, association luncheons and special event receptions occur.
Harry’s Bar is located off the Clubhouse Lobby, next to the Main Dining Room. This warm gathering place lets you meet friends for a cocktail or two before lunch or dinner. Happy Hour is daily from 3pm – 6pm where you can enjoy daily drink specials, featured wines and complimentary hors d’oeuvres.
The 19th Hole, located on the Clubhouse Terrace, is another place to grab a drink and light appetizers while overlooking the historic East Course.
Bistro 105 offers a more casual, family-friendly dining option. Bring a guest or two and enjoy a fresh selection from the a la carte menu or a weekly fun-filled barbeque.

We are proud to share the success of our 3rd Annual BallenIsles Junior Cup with you! This year’s 2013 Junior Cup tournament took place July 20th and 21st on BallenIsles historic championship East Course, where many legendary players originally qualified for the PGA Tour. Showcasing golf’s next generation of male and female rising stars, this event featured 36 of the top elite players from the local community. Sponsored by Cleveland Golf and Srixon Golf, players received a Cleveland Golf Bag, golf shirts, hats and Srixon golf balls during a demo day following the pairings party that determined the “East” and “West" teams. Out of the 36 participants in this year’s event, 26 of them were returning players.

The weekend was full of a great deal of sportsmanship and determination as both teams set out to win the Cup! Saturday’s events included a “Partners Better Ball” and “Alternate Shot” match play. Individual matches were played on Sunday on 18 holes. The tournament allowed the junior golfers a chance to participate in a PGA Tour style event and to be treated like tour players. The 2013 BallenIsles Junior Cup players were even featured on a jumbotron in Times Square in July!
In the end, it was the East Team who won the 2013 BallenIsles Junior Cup event. Congratulations to all and thank you for your participation. Until next year!
